RELEASE VALUE FROM ASSETS YOU OWN

Capital Raising Solutions

Own a business vehicle or equipment outright? An eligible unencumbered asset—one with no existing finance or security interest—may support a capital raise, giving your business access to funds while continuing to use the asset, depending on the structure.

Asset-backed funding may offer a more competitive rate than an unsecured alternative, depending on the lender, asset valuation and your business. Compare the complete quote, fees and repayments; a better rate is not guaranteed.

The asset becomes subject to the finance arrangement and may be at risk if repayments are not met. Available funds depend on the accepted value and lender limits, not automatically the original purchase price. Discuss ownership and tax implications with your accountant before proceeding.

SHORT-TERM CASHFLOW GAPS

Business Overdraft

An overdraft generally links to a business transaction account and lets you use funds up to an approved limit. It may help cover timing gaps between paying expenses and receiving customer payments.

Interest generally applies to the amount used, with other fees potentially payable. Check limit fees, reviews, security and repayment conditions. Ongoing use without a plan to reduce the balance can become costly.

RECURRING WORKING CAPITAL

Business Line of Credit

A working capital line gives access to an approved amount for eligible business expenses. Revolving facilities may allow funds to be reused as they are repaid, subject to the agreement.

It can suit recurring stock, materials or subcontractor costs. Some products require each drawdown to be repaid over a short period, so compare drawdown fees and repayment timing as well as the headline rate.

A DEFINED FUNDING NEED

Business Term Loan

A term loan provides an agreed amount with repayments over a set period. It may suit a planned investment or a specific working capital requirement where you can estimate the amount and repayment capacity.

Secured and unsecured options may be available. Unsecured does not necessarily mean no personal guarantee. Compare total repayments, fees, security requirements and early payout terms.

What are you planning?

Funding for real
business situations.

BUSINESS GROWTH

Take on the next opportunity.

A new contract might mean buying materials, adding equipment or bringing in staff before the first invoice is paid. Match the facility to the upfront cost and realistic timing of future receipts.

WORKING CAPITAL

Bridge the timing gap.

Stock, supplier bills, wages and subcontractor payments can fall due before customers pay you. An appropriate facility may help manage that gap, with a clear plan for repayment.

SEASONAL DEMAND

Prepare for the busy period.

Purchasing stock ahead of a peak season can put pressure on available cash. Consider how quieter months and slower sales would affect repayments.

FLEET & EQUIPMENT

Stage your upgrades.

Planning several ute or van purchases? Explore Equipment Line of Credit options on our Work Vehicles page. Asset purchase funding differs from raising cash against equipment you already own.

ATO DEBT

Explore a realistic repayment plan.

Some lenders may consider funding eligible business tax debt. Availability depends on the debt, lodgment status, trading position and lender policy. A new loan adds its own costs and repayments.

Also discuss an ATO payment plan with your accountant or tax agent. Compare that option with any proposed loan; borrowing is not automatically the better choice.

UNEXPECTED COSTS

Keep the plan sustainable.

Urgent repairs or a delayed customer payment can disrupt a budget. Discuss the cause, amount and repayment source. More borrowing may not resolve an ongoing trading shortfall.

Compare the complete picture

Choose a facility
you can manage.

Look beyond the advertised rate. Compare the total cost, access to funds, repayment frequency, review dates, guarantees and any assets offered as security.

Tell your broker about existing debts and upcoming commitments. A facility should support a realistic cashflow plan, including quieter periods—not depend on every invoice arriving on time.

For tax debt, include current ATO balances, payment arrangements and lodgment information. Seek prompt professional advice if you cannot meet obligations or have received recovery notices.

Useful information to get started

  • Purpose of the funds, amount and required timing
  • Business structure, ABN and trading history
  • Recent bank statements and available financial records
  • Current loans, repayments and other commitments
  • Supplier quotes for planned equipment purchases
  • Current ATO statements where tax debt is involved

You can enquire before every document is ready. Your broker will explain what the lender needs and how to provide documents securely.

A little clarity before you start

Your cashflow questions,
answered.

Which facility suits my business?

Start with the purpose, how often funds are needed and how you will repay them. A recurring timing gap, a one-off investment and a series of equipment purchases may call for different structures. Your broker can explain available options and their costs.

Can capital raising help with working capital or ATO debt?

Some lenders may accept these business purposes for a capital raise against eligible assets. Your broker can check the asset, proposed use of funds and affordability. For tax debt, compare an ATO payment plan with your accountant as well.

Can I use an equipment line to pay ATO debt?

An equipment finance limit is generally intended for accepted asset purchases. It is not automatically available for tax debt or everyday expenses. Discuss a separate eligible cashflow facility and an ATO payment plan with your broker and tax adviser.

Can you help if I already have ATO debt?

We can discuss your circumstances and explore lenders that may consider the purpose. Not all lenders accept outstanding tax debt, and approval is not guaranteed. Keep engaging with the ATO and your accountant while reviewing the options.

Are low-doc options available?

Some facilities have streamlined documentation for eligible applicants. Others need detailed bank statements or financial accounts. Requirements depend on the facility, lender and business; low-doc does not mean no assessment.
